NNPP moves to reconcile expelled members

The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), on Thursday, declared its readiness for reconciliation with former members who have expressed a desire to rejoin the party.

NNPP also debunked the claims made by some expelled individuals who announced the suspension of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State for attending the NNPP national convention.

The Acting National Chairman of the NNPP, Dr. Ahmed Ajuji, disclosed this in Abuja, during a press briefing, described individuals fighting the party as “expelled political comedians, hirelings, and clowns” who were seeking relevance.

Ajuji noted that Governor Yusuf is a bona fide member of the party and stated that he has not been suspended.

Ajuji said: “We have rules and regulations as enshrined in the party constitution and other regulations. Once you flout these regulations, the due process of the law as provided for in our Constitution, and the regulations, you have to face the law.

“Our doors are open for any one of them who have been expelled, who wants reconciliation and who has rejoined the party, and they know better than most of us, the road in which they can follow in order to come back to the party.”

He also mentioned that these former members have filed multiple lawsuits challenging the party’s leadership and attempted to disrupt the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting and the National Convention. However, their suits were dismissed by the court.

He noted that the expelled members were in contempt of court, as they were prohibited from presenting themselves as party members or issuing press statements, and assured that the full weight of the law would be brought to bear on them.

The NNPP reaffirmed its commitment to delivering good governance and building a better Nigeria, with Governor Abba Yusuf leading the charge in Kano State.

The party expressed its unity and determination to promote sustainable democracy in the country.
