The Edo State governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has commissioned borehole facilities at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Orientation Camp in Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state.

The governor, represented by Honourable Zubairu Dada Abubakar, Commissioner for Youth and Humanitarian Affairs/NYSC State Governing Board Chairman, while commissioning the water project, said it was part of the governor’s promise made to the NYSC scheme and to the corps members posted to the camp for their orientation course that he will make their stay on camp conducive with the necessary social amenities made available to them.

Obaseki said water is life and so, corps members posted to the camp for their orientation course, should not be denied access to portable water.

He however asked them to make good use of the facilities and ensures that they serve the purpose for which they are meant for.

In her response, the State Coordinator, NYSC Edo State, Mrs Ben-Ushie Frances Ifeoma, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the State Government for the timely intervention and completion of the boreholes.

She assured the Edo State Government that the two boreholes would be  maintained and judiciously used.

Mrs. Ifeoma, also appealed to Obaseki, for the construction of  more hostel accommodation for corps member posted to the state for one year mandatory service.

She said the scheme is currently faced with Inadequate hostel accommodation and mattresses for the Corps members.
