With its Sip & Paint that gave rise to the discovery of artistic skills, Spotify unveiled its daylist in Nigeria in a grand style at the Muson Centre Lagos recently.
Lovers of fine music got a run for their money when hidden painting talents were revealed through creative masterpieces during the Spotify Daylist Sip & Paint exercise.
With the incomparable DJ KIZZY making the ambience a relaxation spot through his playlist, the event also featured Graffiti booth – a perfect lit photo spot that attendees used to capture the exciting moments of the #daylistSipandPaint.
Remarking on the newly launched daylist at the event, Spotify’s Head of Communications and Public Relations, Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), Michelle Atagana said, the idea is to create a fun and inviting space for you to have fun and unleash your creativity. Our brand new amazing playlist called daylist feature is like a musical chameleon, morphing throughout the day to keep your vibe fresh. It was launched in Sub-Saharan Africa in March, but Nigeria is already rocking it, snagging the number two spot for most streams, right behind South Africa. Kenya, Ghana, and Uganda round out the top five countries streaming daylist in SSA.”
Atagana further said, “daylist streams in Nigeria have grown by 1326 per cent since its March launch till now! Lagos takes the cake for the city with the most daylist love, with an increase of 1411 per cent. Big ups to Katsina, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and Enugu for also making the top 5 Nigerian daylist champions.”
Talking about the demographics, she said, “dudes seem to be digging the daylist a little more than the ladies, with 75 per cent of listeners being male. But hey, there’s plenty of room for everyone on this musical journey! And guess who’s leading the charge? Gen Z and Millennials – proving good music has no age limit.”
Speaking of good music, Atagana said, “Island Vibes Riddim’ stands out as the most popular daylist name in Nigeria, indicating a distinct preference for laid-back, island-inspired music among listeners. “This is why we designed this event for you to lose yourself in the music while you paint, and to see your artistic masterpieces.”
