…says PDP sure of continuity in guber election

The Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, has reaffirmed his loyalty and support for Governor Godwin Obaseki, even as he commended the Governor for his foresight in engaging qualified engineers for the infrastructural development of the State.

The Deputy Governor made the remarks when he played host to members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Benin branch, led by its Chairman, Engr. Evukowhiroro Ojeba, at Office of the Deputy Governor, Dennis Osadebey Avenue, Benin City.

Omobayo reiterated that his appointment and assumption of office as Deputy Governor was an act of God, noting that the Engineering family played a vital role in moulding him to become who he is today.

He promised to be a good ambassador of the Engineering family, while pledging to uphold the noble ideals of the profession and support its activities.

On the forthcoming governorship election, the Deputy Governor stated that the developmental strides of the Obaseki-led administration speaks volume for continuity and consolidation of the PDP and its candidate, Dr. Asue lghodalo.

According to him: ” I have all it takes during my tenure as Deputy Governor to support the Governor for this administration to end well and finish strong.

“Obaseki has done very well and the incoming PDP administration under Asue lghodalo will consolidate on his achievements.”

In his speech, Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Engr. Evukowhiroro Ojeba, said the Deputy Governor was one of their own and that the essence of their visit was to felicitate him on his elevation to the number two position in Edo State.

He noted that Omobayo’s elevation was historic as the first Engineer in Edo to occupy the exalted office of Deputy Governor.

“As professional Engineers, we are here to identify with our own and we are proud of this great achievement”, Ojeba added.

Highpoint of the courtesy visit was the presentation of souvenir and congratulatory card to the Deputy Governor by the leadership of the Engineering family.
