The Nigeria Police have requested the public to help in identifying two officers caught in a viral video bashing a driver’s car in Lagos and ordered their arrest.

The Force’s spokesperson, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the development, yesterday.

He said immediately they are identified, they would be invited for questioning .

An X user, Akhabue Ehichoya Odianosen had shared the video with the caption, “Can we finally agree to say na animals una carry guns and uniforms give? The Nigerian Police are the most unprofessional in the entire world.”

An officer was seen using his gun to break the side mirror of the car, while the other targeted the rear glass of the car with a stick.

Reacting to the video, Olumuyiwa wrote: “This is totally condemned. How can human beings behave in this unholy manner? Benjamin Hundeyin, LagosPoliceNG, PoliceNG_CRU take necessary action.

“Fish out and invite the men immediately. Thanks.”

When contacted, spokesperson for Lagos State Police Command, Hundeyin, lamented lack of information from citizens, and advised that details of the complaint should be duly disclosed.

“Anyone that makes a complaint should provide details. There are many police officers in Lagos.

“We have said it over and over again that people should provide where, when and time. Even if the bus stop was the only mentioned location, I could have called the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area and asked them to be produced. I don’t have the information and I can’t run after anyone to give me information,” he said.
