An Ondo State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Funmilayo Mary Adekojo, has promised to turn around the fortunes of the state around if voted into power.

Adekojo, while speaking with reporters after procuring the expression of interest and nomination forms at the national secretariat of the party in Abuja, pledged to be good ambassador of the womenfolk not only in the world, Africa, but also in Nigeria.

She, therefore, urged the electorate in Ondo State to give a woman in her mould the chance to administer the state, saying that she will not be intimidated by men who constitute the bulk of those aspiring to govern the state.

Meanwhile, a socio-political group within the ruling APC in the state, known as the Omoluabi Coalition, yesterday, said that Olusola Oke remains the standout choice among the over 10 aspirants vying for the ticket of the party in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

In a communiqué after a meeting held in Akure, the state capital, Director-General of the Coalition, Tunji Balogun, emphasised that Oke possessed the requisite qualities to effectively lead Ondo State.

He said: “We believe in continuation. We believe in somebody who will continue where Rotimi Akeredolu stopped. We need a competent candidate and not a candidate who has a stain or certificate scandal. The APC should be wise in picking a candidate. The party should be diligent.
