Club rehabilitates borehole in Gbagada community

To provide access to clean and hygienic water, the Rotaract club of Gbagada, has renovated a borehole facility in Gbagada area of Lagos State.

Speaking at the unveiling of the rehabilitated borehole at Bode Joseph Street, Gbagada, Lagos, the club President, Idris Yusuf, said though access to clean water is a fundamental human right, many communities still face water scarcity and contamination issues.

Yusuf noted that the renovation of the borehole serves as a testament to the club’s unwavering commitment to address this challenge head-on and ensure that every individual has access to safe and clean water.

He, therefore, urged the community to ensure proper maintenance, saying it is key to making it last longer.

The District Rotaract representative, Abisogun Mujeeb, said with the restoration of functionality to the borehole water system, they have not only improved the quality of life for community members, but also laid the foundation for future generations to thrive.

“Clean water is essential for health, sanitation, agriculture and economic development.

“By investing in water infrastructure, we are investing in the well-being and prosperity of our community as a whole,” he said.

Responding, community leader, Ibrahim Bakare Olawale, expressed gratitude to the club for the gesture and pledged their commitment to the sustainability of the facility.
