The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) highlighted the pivotal role of Kuriga school children in their rescue.
Maj.-Gen. Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, underscored how the distress signals emitted by the abducted children became vital cues for the rescue operation.
Buba emphasized that the intense military pressure on the insurgents amplified the distress, facilitating the successful rescue of 137 schoolchildren on March 24.
“Our armed forces remain resolute in their commitment to safeguarding citizens, evident in the recent liberation of hostages in Sokoto and Kaduna States,” stated Buba.
He further iterated, “The distress emanating from the children’s situation served as a catalyst for our troops’ swift action.”
This operation reflects the unwavering dedication of the armed forces to counter terrorism and ensure public safety.
