The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has assured the Bauchi Central Senator, Abdul Ningi that he’s not alone in his battle.
DAILY POST recalls that Ningi was suspended from the Senate for three months after raising an allegation of budget padding.
In an interview with BBC, Ningi had claimed that N3.7 trillion could not be traced to any project in the 2027 budget.
Atiku assured the suspended lawmaker of his support in the battle that led to his suspension.
Posting on X after visiting the lawmaker, Atiku wrote: “During a solidarity visit to Sen. Abdul Ningi, @Sen_AbdulNingi, representing Bauchi Central Senatorial District, I stressed the importance of preserving the integrity of government institutions if the interests of Nigerians are to be better served and the envisaged development attained.
“I assured Sen. Ningi that he is not alone in the battle that earned him a suspension in the Senate. -AA”
