Some Newcastle fans on social media have been reacting after they were linked with a move for Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos by The Telegraph.
The Telegraph claim that Newcastle are keen on Carlos as an alternative to Sven Botman.
The Dutch defender has been linked to the Magpies for quite some time now, but while the Tyneside club are keen on the Lille centre-half, getting him out of France could be a difficult task.
Therefore, Newcastle have come up with a couple of contingency options, and Carlos is one that theyre apparently interested in.
One thing is for sure, if Carlos joins Newcastle, hell very quickly impose himself in the back four.
Indeed, while some centre-halves go about their business quietly, Carlos is very much an alpha centre-back. Hes a player you definitely notice on the pitch, and while thats to Sevillas detriment at times, you have to feel hed improve Newcastles struggling back line.
He certainly has the pedigree to be a success at Newcastle. Hes a Europa League winner and a regular starter for one of the best teams in Spain.
Supporters are certainly very excited by this rumour, and heres what theyve been saying about Carlos on social media¦
