Moghalu, who was the candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election, said the tragedy of Nigeria as a country is that its leaders are only interested and focused on politics, rent-seeking, and picking sycophants and ethnic journeymen for jobs they cant perform.

The former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Kingsley Moghalu, has berated Nigerian leaders for not being interested in solving the multiple economic and security challenges facing the country.

 

Moghalu, who was the candidate of the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in the 2019 presidential election, said the tragedy of Nigeria as a country is that its leaders are only interested and focused on politics, rent-seeking, and picking sycophants and ethnic journeymen for jobs they cant perform.

 

He noted that problems cannot solve themselves, stressing that only knowledge, competence, expertise and politics can solve Nigerias problems.

 

He added that bringing the necessary factors together to fix Nigerias problems requires real leadership.

 

He said, The tragedy of Nigeria is that many of its leaders are not truly interested in solving the countrys problems.
