Police arrest 15 suspected criminals in Gombe

The Gombe State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Hayatu Usman, has apprehended 15 suspects for various criminal offenses in its ongoing crackdown on crime in the state.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mahid Muazu Abubakar, the arrests were made as part of the Command’s efforts to combat crime and ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

Mahid stated that three suspects, identified as 25-year-old Hassan Danladi, 42-year-old Seth Adamu, and 22-year-old Eli Bulus, were arrested for criminal conspiracy and illegal possession of firearms.

He said Danladi was found in possession of illegal arms, including a Dane gun, bow and arrows, charms, and armlets, which he confessed to obtaining from Adamu and Bulus, all residents of Kaltungo LGA.

Another suspect, Mohammed Umar, alias Madaki, of Bomala Quarters, Gombe, was arrested for causing grievous hurt. He attacked Mohammed Mohammed with a cutlass, resulting in a deep cut on the victim’s left hand.

Adamu Bello, 27 years old, of Barunde Quarters, was arrested for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery. He was part of a group of hoodlums who stole various items valued at N1,162,400 from Almustapha El-Yakubu of Barunde Quarters.

Buba Wakili and Babangida Ahmadu, both of Damra, were arrested for criminal conspiracy and kidnapping. They were involved in intimidating Buba Tukur of Damba village to pay N1,000,000 or risk being kidnapped.

Adamu Maikudi, 23 years old, of Mai Rana village in Billiri LGA, was arrested for criminal conspiracy and theft. He was part of a group that stole 23 cows from Golombi village and sold them.

Other arrests included Usman Yarima and Sani Adamu for theft, Nasiru Sani for criminal conspiracy, house trespass, and theft, Abubakar Saleh for criminal trespass, theft, and possession of a dangerous weapon, and Anas Ibrahim and Zaradeen Abubakar for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery.

The State Police Command urged heavy truck drivers and trailers carrying foodstuffs to be cautious of criminal elements who climb on top of trucks to steal foodstuffs.

The Command also commended its officers and urged the public to provide vital information to aid in the fight against crime.
