Yobe: Buni dissolves 17 LG caretaker management committees

Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has approved the dissolution of all the 17 local government councils of the state.

This was revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Press Secretary to the Secretary to State Government, Shuaibu Abdullahi.

According to the statement, Governor Buni has also directed all local government chairmen to handover the affairs of their respective local governments to Directors of Personnel Management on or before Thursday 25th April, 2024.

Recall that, the tenure of the outgoing council chairmen expired on November 25th, 2023, but was extended by six months following the postponement of the local government to 25th May, 2024 by the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission, (YOSIEC).

It was gathered that, aspirants wishing to contest in the forthcoming LG election have began to pick expression of interest and nomination forms from political parties in the state.
