Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will on Wednesday flag off various interventions targeted at easing economic hardship occasioned by inflationary trends resulting from Federal Government reform policies.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, in a statement issued on Tuesday, disclosed that the interventions codenamed, Eko Cares, will be offered to Lagisians in the area of transportation, education, health and agriculture.

Recall that the fuel subsidy removal sparked a rise in cost of living. Mr Sanwo-Olu announced a 50% cut in the fares on all government transport platforms on February 8, 2023.

He also declared free ante-natal care in all government-owned health formations in addition to recently-ended six weeks of Ounjẹ Eko initiative.

Other palliative efforts of the Lagos State Government included a N35,000 wage award given to all civil servants.

Also, 15,000 women from the 20 local governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas got N50,000 each to support their businesses.

Besides, Mr Sanwo-Olu announced free delivery for expectant women in all government hospitals, among other initiatives.
