Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko has revealed that she was irritated during the period she wrote her 2017 hit song Joromi.

She disclosed this during an interview with CNN.

The Afrobeats star revealed that she wasnt a fan of the song at the time she wrote it, and even sang it with irritation.

Simi who is Adekunle Golds wife also spoke about where her inspiration for her music comes from. She said:

Sometimes I dont have any inspiration but I have a deadline. I dont really like those, because you know you have to force it to come. And Im not crazy about those.

Ive made really great songs from those. Joromi was one of those.

She said when she worked on Joromi she thought she had finished writing the songs for the album, but the team sent the beat to her and she needed to write a song for it.

Simi continued:

Joromi was a deadline song. I was even done. They sent me a beat and I was like Im done writing.

I wrote like five different songs on that beat that I didnt like and then Joromi came but it was like a deadline song.

Though she said that she was irritated at the time, she is now glad she wrote it.

Simi added:

I didnt even want to write the song. I was just irritated. But Im glad that I did.

The music video for Joromi has 19 million views on YouTube.
