.Faduyile urges supporters to remain calm

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has appealed to the 15 aspirants who contested for the gubernatorial ticket of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the primary elections held last Saturday to sheathe their swords.

Aiyedatiwa, who spoke during a thank-you visit tour to the states party secretariat in Akure, yesterday, urged the aggrieved aspirants to also see themselves as ‘winners’.

He said that all the other 15 aspirants must come together to ensure APC wins the governorship election in the state and that there is a need to put the party’s house in order before the poll.

Earlier, the Chairman of the party in the state, Ade Adetimehin, said he saw Saturday’s primary election as a family affair and was sure that the party would continue to remain in power for more than 2025.

Meanwhile, one of the aspirants, Prof. Francis Adedayo Faduyile, has expressed sadness that the partys loyalists across the 203 wards in the state were prevented from the primaries.

In a statement signed by his media team, Faduyile commended members of his campaign organisation for their untiring efforts in the past few months as they toured the entire state and engaged party members and stakeholders to share his ideas of what a greater Ondo state of the future could be.”

Meanwhile, a former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN), has congratulated Aiyedatiwa on his victory and advised him to look forward to the general election with confidence and build bridges ahead of the forthcoming governorship polls.
