Akwa Ibom new PPRO, Timfon assumes duty

The newly posted Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in Akwa Ibom State, ASP John Timfon on Tuesday assumed duty as the 24th PPRO of the command.

In a statement by DSP Lawrence Anine of the PRO department, Timfon took over from Odiko Macdon who has been promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police.

The statement noted that until her appointment as the Akwa Ibom State PPRO, Timfon, an indigene of the state, was the Head of Programmes for Nigeria Police Radio, 99.1FM, Abuja.

She holds an LL.B, (Hons) Degree in Law from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State and is a member of the Regular course 2.

The statement in parts, “The Akwa Ibom State Police Command wishes to inform the general public that the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeoye Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, has approved the posting of a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) to Akwa Ibom State Police Command. She is ASP John Timfon .

“The new PPRO takes over from CSP Odiko Macdon (ANIPR) who was recently promoted to the higher rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).”

While appreciating the immediate past PPRO, CSP Odiko Macdon for his professionalism, the Command urged Akwa Ibom people to accord the new PPRO, ASP Timfon John the needed co-operation to succeed in her new role.
