Some Newcastle fans on social media have been reacting after it was reported that the Magpies are in for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
The Magpies are, according to O Jogo, willing to pay €60m (£50m) for Nunez this month, and theyre apparently tightening their grip on the Uruguayan striker.
Unfortunately for the Tyneside club, they may face some fierce competition for the strikers signature.
Indeed, Benfica are apparently hoping to receive an approach from Atletico Madrid for the forward, and if the La Liga champions enter the race, its hard to see Newcastle securing the attackers signature.
Newcastle need goals if theyre going to stay up, and Nunez would certainly provide that.
He has 13 goals in 14 league appearances this season, while hes also found the net three times in the Champions League, including a brace against Barcelona.
United currently have something of a striker crisis on their hands with Callum Wilson out of action, but their worries would be alleviated massively if Nunez were to arrive.
This time last year, this sort of signing would have been seen as widely unrealistic for the Magpies, but now that theyre the richest club in the world, anything can happen.
Newcastle supporters are very excited by the prospect of Nunez arriving, and heres what theyve been saying on social media¦
If we get him, we need to build our squad around him. With the right players around him, hes the sort of player that could take us to the next level.

He looks a great player. Supposedly a bit rough around the edges but scores and sets up goals. He does seem more suited to the Spanish game but he knows where the net us so would be exciting to see him here.
