Governor Dapo Abiodun

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has said that various policies put in place by President Bola Tinubu-led administration aimed at putting the country on the right economic trajectory have started yielding positive results.

According to him, Nigeria has now become an attractive brand that is sellable to the global community, saying that it is incumbent on public relations specialists to start selling Nigeria’s renewed hope agenda of Tinubu around the world as a way of attracting more investments to boost the real sector of the economy.

The governor spoke at the maiden edition of Nigeria Public Relations Week, with the theme: Leveraging Public Relations As A Critical Asset for Nigeria’s Economic And Reputation Renaissance, held at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta,

Abiodun, who was conferred with the Patron of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), also informed the practitioners of the need to help in showcasing the potentials that abound in Ogun State through their professional ingenuity.

The governor, therefore, emphasised the need for all Nigerians to be involved in promoting the good image of the country at all times.

Abiodun said that some of the economic policies introduced by the Federal Government to revamp the nation’s economy had started yielding positive results as the local currency gained momentum daily.

Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, represented by the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Isa Lanre Onilu, in his remarks, said for Nigeria to realise her collective vision, there was the need for Nigerians to celebrate their achievements as well as chart a new way forward.

Also, President of the NIPR, Dr Ike Neliaku, said that public relations is all about the management of reputation and perception as the difference between one country and another is reputation.

MEANWHILE, the Rwandan Ambassador to Nigeria, Christophe Bazivamo, has said that his country is ready to establish an economic and educational relationship with Ogun State for the mutual benefit of both parties.

Bazivamo, who stated this while fielding questions from newsmen after a meeting with Abiodun in his office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said that Ogun State had achieved much in the area of education and industrialisation, hence the need for Rwanda to tap from the experience.

He said his country would think in the direction of establishing and strengthening relationships with Nigerian businessmen, saying that Rwandan Private Sector Federation is ready to go into partnership with the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, trade together, exchange ideas and work on building sustainable partnership.
