Uchechi Kanu, wife of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has visited her husband in the Department of State Services (DSS) custody.
Uchechi visited her husband in detention on April 16 in company with Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly and Kanus Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor.
The IPOB leaders wife thanked Senator Ubah for facilitating the visit while speaking during a live session on Radio Biafra on Sunday.
She was previously denied access to her husband by the DSS.
She said, Let me use this opportunity to thank Senator Ifeanyi Ubah who moved swiftly to facilitate my visit to my husband in DSS custody. I thank you, sir.
I thank other Igbo politicians, governors and political office holders who are concerned about the plight of my husband.
A lot of these elites are concerned about the unlawful detention of my husband, and are working silently to secure a round table discussion for his release. Im thankful to them.
Senator Ubah confirmed the visit to The Nation on Monday.
The lawmaker said, Yes, she was in Nigeria and she approached me and told me that she needed to visit her husband, but was finding it difficult.
So I immediately intervened. I visited her husband too with her in the company of Ejiofor, their lawyer. She met with her husband in the DSS facility on April 16.
