The President, National Youth Alliance (NYA), Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, on Monday held a strategic meeting with a Senegalese renowned influential figure in Africa’s political space, Ousmane Yara at his Dakar residence in Senegal.

This was contained in a statement signed by NYA President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the discussions centre on how to get youth fully involved in the 2027 polls in Nigeria.

“Earlier today (Monday), I paid a visit to His Excellency Ousmane Yara at his Dakar residence, we discussed extensively areas of collaboration for youth inclusiveness in politics and governance in Africa.

“Yara is one of the prolific political mediators and strategic negotiators in modern Pan-African political history. Born in Guinea Conakry, he is a Pan-African citizen with extensive knowledge and experience in political negotiations across Africa.

“Some of Yara’s achievements include the negotiation between President Alpha Conde (Guinea Conakry) and President Macky Sall (Senegal), and while I was with him, he suggested that NYA should become registered as a political party in Nigeria ahead of 2027.

“He also conducted negotiations between President Macky Sall (Senegal) and President Abdoulaye Wade (Senegal).

“Recently, he conducted sensitive negotiations between the Senegalese opposition figure Ousmane Sonko who is the current Prime Minister of Senegal and Bassirou Diomaye Faye the new President of Senegal respectively,” the statement said.
