Police operatives from Amadi Division in Rivers State have arrested a 30-year-old man, simply identified as Jeffrey for allegedly defiling his landlady’s 13-year-old daughter in an Estate close to Federal Government Girls College

(FGGC) in Abuloma, Port Harcourt Local Council of the state.

The Guardian learnt that the suspect, who owns a tailoring shop at the estate, lured the teenager to his shop one evening in the guise of showing her clothes, locked the door, overpowered her and allegedly defiled the teenager.

The suspect was, however, arrested on Friday, April 19, when the girl informed her mother.

It was gathered that a medical examination conducted on the minor indicated she was defiled.

Confirming the development, yesterday, spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, said the suspect has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID, Port Harcourt for discreet investigation.
