Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, a former APC stalwart in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, Zika Momodu, has declared support for the PDP governorship candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie Esq.

The erstwhile APC youth mobiliser pledged his support when Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Godwins Marvellous Omobayo, received members of Afemai Youth Movement (AYM) who were on a courtesy visit to his office.

The Deputy Governor assured Edo youths of positive inclusion in government administration when Asue Ighodalo is elected Governor of Edo State, come September 21.

While describing Asue Ighodalo as the most sellable candidate in the upcoming governorship election, Omobayo charged members of Afemai Youth Movement to deploy their strength in order to ensure Asue Ighodalo emerged victorious at the polls.

Earlier, the leader, Afemai Youth Movement, Comrade Misa Shakar, decorated the Deputy Governor as the grand patron of AYM.

In a related development, the Deputy Governor also granted audience to members of Ibillo National Congress (INC), Benin Chapter, led by Mr. Patrick Owolabi in his office.

Omobayo harped on the essence of fostering love and promoting unity by the people for the overall development of Akoko-Edo.

He promised to do his best in making sure the needed development is attracted to the locality during his tenure as Deputy Governor.

According to the Edo State number two citizen, it was instructive for the people of Akoko-Edo to harness the opportunity given to them to produce the Deputy Governor by speaking with one voice and shun unnecessary rivalry.

In his remarks, Chairman of the group, Mr. Patrick Owolabi, said the visit was to congratulate the Edo Deputy Governor on his well deserved appointment and swearing-in into office.

Owolabi later presented a congratulatory card to the Deputy Governor on behalf of lbillo National Congress.
