"We know this since earlier, we know that in both states NDA is going to form the government," Singh said, referencing the Congress'' misjudgment of the Haryana results in the previous Lok Sabha elections.
BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo echoed similar sentiments, confidently predicting a historic majority in Jharkhand. "We differ from the exit polls. We are going to cross 50-55 seats. This will be the strongest government in Jharkhand," Deo asserted, citing widespread dissatisfaction with the current government, including corruption allegations and the five-month imprisonment of the states chief minister.
Opposition questions exit polls'' credibility
In contrast, opposition leaders were quick to dismiss the exit polls, calling them premature and unreliable. Congress candidate Dr. Ajoy Kumar emphasized that the true picture would only emerge on November 23, the day of the results. "Exit polls show trends, but they have been inaccurate in recent elections. We remain confident that the JMM-Congress government will be formed," he said.
Dr. Nitin Raut, another Congress leader, suggested that some respondents might misrepresent their votes in exit polls, which could lead to inaccuracies. He also accused Mahayuti of electoral malpractice, claiming that the alliance used tactics such as bogus voting and manipulation of resources to secure a victory.
JMM leader Manoj Pandey joined the critique, referring to the flawed predictions of the previous Lok Sabha polls, suggesting that survey agencies had lost their credibility. According to our internal survey, we will win 50+ seats in Jharkhand, he claimed.
Exit Polls and Predictions
Exit polls for both Maharashtra and Jharkhand indicate close contests, with predictions showing that the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, will secure between 137-157 seats. The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP), is projected to win between 126-147 seats. The majority mark in Maharashtras 288-member assembly is set at 145 seats.
In Jharkhand, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is expected to have an edge, though some exit polls predict that the ruling JMM-led alliance could still hold ground. Polls in Jharkhand took place in two phases, with the final results set for November 23.

Maharashtra saw a voter turnout of 58.22% by 5 pm on Wednesday, with the elections being the first since the split in Shiv Sena and NCP. In Jharkhand, the second phase of polling concluded with a turnout of 67.59%. The results for both states will be declared on November 23, alongside bypoll results from several states.
