Former Spanish football midfielder, Cesc Fabregas has urged Manchester United to build their team around England star Kobbie Mainoo.
Despite only playing in 19 games for the Red Devils, Mainoo is already making waves as one of the most talented and promising players in Europe.
Fabregas praised Mainoo’s skills on the BBC’s Planet Premier League show, depicting him as someone who can easily change the tide of a game with his remarkable talent.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal star believes United must give the 18-year-old rising star the necessary protection and playtime to develop him further as a player.
Surrounding him with players of better quality in the next transfer window could enhance his skills and performance.
In conclusion, Fabregas asserted that the young midfielder is not just a player for the future, but a player for the present, meaning he should be a key player for Manchester United next season, regardless of any new signings.
“Hes someone they need to protect but at the same time they need to invest time and minutes on him because he can make a real difference,” Fabregas said.
“Hes got a fantastic personality on the pitch, it feels like hes been playing for a long time. To help him as well they need to recruit players in the summer and make him more brilliant than he already is.”
He added, “Im expecting a big transfer window from Man United but definitely for next season, Kobbie Mainoo needs to be a key player, no matter what.”
