Sheikh Abdulmumini Hannafi Ayara, a prominent Islamic scholar and the National Missioner of Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, has urged the government to reduce the cost of governance amidst the nation’s prevailing economic challenges.

Highlighting the need for a prudent and forward-thinking approach to managing the country’s resources and economy, Ayara emphasized that such measures are crucial for ensuring long-term sustainability.

Speaking at the inaugural Ramadan lecture of the Masharul Al-Adabiy Al-Kamaliy Islamic and Arabic Institute in Ilorin, Ayara underscored the significance of leadership decisions, stating, “Posterity will judge every decision made by our leaders.”

Addressing underlying issues to prevent recurring hardships, Ayara stressed the importance of proactive measures. He emphasized, “It’s essential always to tackle the root cause of problems to forestall future occurrences.”

Expressing gratitude to the Alumni for organizing the event, Ayara prayed for their continued adherence to Islamic teachings and values. He lauded their efforts in preserving the legacy of Sheikh Kamaldeen Al-adaby.

During the lecture, guest speaker Sheikh Kamaldeen Sofiyullahi Kamaldeen, a lecturer at the College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), urged the government to take proactive steps to alleviate the nation’s economic difficulties.

He outlined the significance of Zakat, emphasizing its role in combating bribery and corruption, promoting adherence to trade regulations, providing assistance to the less privileged, and ensuring equitable wealth distribution. He asserted these are vital for establishing a robust economic system capable of withstanding the test of time.
