Edo State Deputy Governor, Engr. Godwins Marvellous Omobayo has pledged his commitment to the overall sports development of the State.
The Deputy Governor affirmed the assurance during a courtesy visit by a delegation of Edo State Sports Commission, led by its Chairman, Olympian Yusuf Alli at Osadebey Avenue, the office of the Deputy Governor in Benin City.
Omobayo stated that he was born into a sports family, as his parents both studied Physical Education. He described himself as a football lover, noting that he has strongly supported Bendel lnsurance Football Club.
The Edo State Deputy Governor declared his commitment to the success of the state-owned Bendel lnsurance FC and its female counterparts, Edo Queens FC.
He further expressed his determination to take the sports sector to glorious heights.
In his remarks, Yusuf Alli stated that the essence of the courtesy visit was to felicitate the Deputy Governor on his appointment and swearing-in.
Ultimately, the Deputy Governor was presented with customized jerseys of Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens FC.
