OAU Mourns As Senior Lecturer Dies

Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, is mourning the passing of a respected senior lecturer, Amos Oyedokun, from the Department of Demography and Social Statistics.

This was revealed to our correspondent in a statement released and signed by the Head of the Department, Professor Lukman Solanke.

In the statement, Lukman confirmed the passing of Amos Oyedokun, who served as both a lecturer and examination officer in the department.

According to him, the deceased passed away on Friday at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

The cause of death remains undisclosed as of the time of this report.

The statement reads: “The Department of Demography and Social Statistics regrets to announce the untimely passing of Dr. Amos Olugbenga Oyedokun, Senior Lecturer and Examination Officer of the department. The sad incident occurred today (01/11/2024) at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”
