Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has been appointed as head of the Ondo States Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election scheduled for Thursday.
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Akure by Mr Kennedy Peretei, the Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN) reports that seven governorship aspirants have been cleared by the Sen. Sam Egwu Screening Committee to participate in the primary election.
According to the statement, a total of 627 delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state would elect the governorship flag bearer of the party at the International Culture and Events Centre in Akure.
It stated that accreditation of delegates would commence at 10:00am.
The party warned that people who were not delegates or had no meaningful business at the venue should keep a reasonable distance from the venue.
