BUA cement PLC announces Chikezie Ajaero as Acting CFO

BUA Cement Plc, one of Nigeria’s leading cement manufacturing companies, has announced the appointment of Chikezie Ajaero as the Acting Chief Finance Officer.

In an official announcement released to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public, the company disclosed the resignation of Jacques Piekarski from his role as Executive Director/Chief Finance Officer, effective April 30th, 2024. Simultaneously, BUA Cement Plc introduced Chikezie Ajaero as the Acting Chief Finance Officer.

“BUA Cement Plc wishes to notify the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and the investing public that Mr. Jacques Piekarski, its Executive Director/Chief finance officer, has resigned his appointment, effective 30th April 2024,” Satomi Hauwa the company secretary said.

Piekarski’s departure marked the end of an era characterized by his substantial contributions to BUA Cement Plc’s growth and success. Throughout his tenure, he played a part in shaping the company’s financial strategy and operational efficiency.

The appointment of Chikezie Ajaero as the Acting Chief Finance Officer signals a new chapter for BUA Cement Plc. With over 26 years of experience in financial reporting and control, Ajaero is well-equipped to lead the company’s finance function. His academic background, including an MBA from the University of Lagos, further solidifies his qualifications for the role.

“Mr. Chikezie Ajaero is a finance professional and seasoned accountant with an MBA from the University of Lagos. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and has over 26 years of experience in financial reporting and control,” Satomi said.

Prior to his appointment as Acting Chief Finance Officer, Ajaero served as the Finance Director of BUA Cement Obu Plant, a position where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and financial acumen. His track record of success and commitment to excellence position him as a valuable asset to the executive team.

As a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Ajaero brings a wealth of expertise in financial management and corporate governance to his new role.
