The Police on Friday arraigned one Prudent Umadike, 31, in a GradeA Customary Court, Iyaganku, Ibadan, for allegedly stealing television picture boards.

Umadike, a security guard in a television repair shop at Lebanon St. Dugbe, Ibadan was charged with housebreaking and theft.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, Mr Philip Amusan, told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on April 16, at about 6.30 a.m.

According to him, Umadike allegedly broke into the shop belonging to one Anuoluwapo Adetoun and stole 50 pieces of television picture boards worth N750,000.

Amusan said the offences contravened Sections 413 and 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Court President, Mrs Moji Aworemi granted the defendant bail in the sum of N350,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Aworemi said that the sureties must provide three years of tax clearance and be blood relations to the defendant.

She thereafter adjourned the case until May 23 for hearing.
