Nottingham Forest manager, Nuno Espirito Santo remains optimistic Ola Aina will sign a new contract at the club.
Aina has six months remaining on his current deal and is yet to put pen to paper on a new one.
The full-back is free to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club from this month.
Asked whether he is hopeful the club will soon have Aina and forward Chris Wood tied down, Santo said: I think so. I think things are going well and the players are working very good.
The Nigeria international joined Forest as a free agent from Italian club Torino in 2023.
Forest then extended his stay by a season last summer.
The 27-year-old has scored twice in 19 league appearances for the Tricky Trees this season.
