FUOYE Gets First Female SUG President

Abiodun Olushola Mary has been elected as the first female Students Union President of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE).

The elections which was held on Friday amidst much anticipation, concluded with Mary emerging as the President with a total of 5046 votes, surpassing his closest rival Williams Kayode Samuel , who secured 4450 votes.

Taiwo and Olumoko followed with 1075 and 3888 votes respectively. The tight competition highlighted the active engagement and vibrant democratic spirit among the students.

Yusuf was elected as the General Secretary, amassing 5172 votes, while his opponents Lawal and Adesola garnered 2349 and 1975 votes respectively.

The role of Assistant General Secretary (AGS) went to Kolawole, who received an overwhelming majority of 9496 votes, demonstrating significant support from the student body.

The Financial Secretary position saw Lawal triumph with 6366 votes, while Olusaja trailed with 3130 votes. The election for the Treasurer was another closely watched race, with Temidayo winning with 3932 votes, followed by Jesuloba with 3648 votes and Oyepade with 1915 votes.

Oguntoye was elected as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) with 4858 votes, narrowly beating Ayodele, who secured 4638 votes. The Welfare Director position went to Aduragbemi, who received a substantial 9496 votes, underscoring the trust placed in him by the student populace.
