NIN enrolment hits 109m – Nigerian Govt

The Nigerian government has revealed that National Identity Number enrollment has increased to over 109 million in August 2024 from 107.3 million in May.

The Director General of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote disclosed this in a statement on Monday by the commission’s spokesperson, Kayode Adegoke.

The DG said of the latest enrolment figure, 20 percent were children.

She assured that the Commission will ensure that the NIN Database is safe and secure.

“Over 109 million NINs have so far been issued to Nigerians and legal residents, amongst which children’s enrolment was 20 percent”, she said.

Recall that in May, the commission had announced that NIN enrolment increased to 107.3 million.
